Adult Apprentice of the Year 2013

This year’s Vocational Qualifications awards evening took place at the Victoria Theatre in front of an audience of over 500. The event is the College's annual awards ceremony to recognise student and apprentice achievement.

The adult apprentice of the year category had a record number of nominations giving the judges a difficult choice for both the runner up and winner of the award.

The runner up Roger Priestley was nominated by his plumbing tutors for his enthusiasm and commitment to his course and also his practical plumbing skills and abilities.

The winner of the VQ Adult Apprentice of the Year 2013 is Emma Deery. Emma was nominated by her tutor for her dedication to her studies passing all exams with distinctions or credits and has even taken additional Electrical qualifications in her own time. Her tutor commends her as a model student and a great example to other learners in her year. She has recently been promoted at work and is now a Facilities Manager.

Her tutor Craig Olley thinks she will excel in her chosen field and commented “I think Emma will do very in the electrical industry and is a good example of model student to the other learners in her year.”
